The annual Halloween dress up day will take place on Friday 27th October. Pupils are encouraged to create their own costumes, prizes will be given for the most original or creative costumes.

School will close for the Halloween break on Friday 27th October & will reopen on Monday 4th November @ 9.00am.

Shoebox appeal Christmas 2017 - Please return shoeboxes to school before 10th November.

County Photos will visit school on Friday 17th November. All pupils will have their photo taken this year.

Parent/Teacher meetings will take place on Thursday 23rd November from 3pm-5.45pm. The school will close at 2.30pm on this date.

Our building work continues, the completion date is set for December so it is hoped it will be ready to move into in January 2018.

We are still collecting mobile phones! Please send in any old or broken mobile phones to school. Proceeds go to Irish Autism Action (IAA) and the Jack & Jill appeal.

Scoil Mhuire is a co-educational catholic primary school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Kildare & Leighlin diocese.

School staff consists of 22 full time teachers, 10 special needs assistants, secretary, caretaker & cleaning staff. The school aims to serve the primary educational needs of the pupils in the town and parish of Abbeyleix.

Overall our school aims to provide a caring learning environment, which facilitates the nurturing of each pupil's full educational potential. The achievement of this aim informs all of the planning processes and activities which occur in our school.
